UNB is a North-East Indian rapper, songwriter and a music producer. Born and brought up in Gangtok,Sikkim. He is currently studying engineering in Pune, Maharastra. From a tender age Ugen had a keen interest in writing narrative songs and playing guitar. Heavily influenced by rappers like Tupac, Eminem, Jay-Z, T.I and B.O.B. He makes Hip-Hop tracks with a bit of RnB influences here and there. Since 2012, he has been active in social media, promoting his music and posting his original songs online in websites such as Reverbnation, SoundCloud, Indihut and YouTube etc. He also wrote a song titled “Call Me Indian” voicing his agony towards the racism against the North-East Indian people in the country. When asked about his favourite singer he says,” I don’t have one, I don’t follow a particular artist. If the song I hear is good then regardless of what the genre it is, I download it and listen to it”.

After graduating from high school in 2013, he recorded a song just for the sake of it, and uploaded it into the internet. The amount of positive responses he received from his friends and well-wishers was overwhelming and caught him off guard. He has never stopped making music ever since then!

The young man himself says, “I love making music and I make music for myself not to impress people.”

Presently, he is Rapper/Beat Producer/Mixing Engineer living in Pune, independently working on his projects, making music and living the dream!
